Please join fellow descendants of JOHN CLARK LYONS (1802-1882) & wives Sarah Reid, Martha Jones, Sarah Boyd; BENJAMIN WELLS (1774-1825) & wife Elizabeth Waddle; and EDMUND WELLS & wife Sarah Cassity for a weekend commemorating these three pioneer Kentucky families… especially the families of Richard/Sarah (Smith) Wells; John Whisman/Carolyn (Tindall) Wells; Thomas Jefferson/Hester Ann (Wells) Lyons; and Oliver Perry/Elizabeth and Nancy (Downing) Wells, many of whom are interred in the Wells-Lyons Cemetery in Menifee County.

Friday, October 21, 2022
- 4:00 – 6:00 Join us for an informal gathering at the home of cousin, Vicki Wells Cox and husband, Shelby Cox. 250 Gray Fox Ridge, Morehead, Ky. Email or call Vicki for directions.
- 6:00 – 7:30 Chow down on an informal BBQ dinner at Vicki’s house overlooking Cave Run Lake.
- 7:30 – Until? Stay and enjoy the sunset and get to know one another.
Saturday, October 22, 2022
- 1:00 pm Meet at the WELLS-LYONS Family Cemetery off Dan Ridge Road in Menifee County. Directions are included in this website or by email request. Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes. You may want to bring artificial or live flowers to decorate graves.
- 3:00 – 6:00 Meet in the Trillium Room at Natural Bridge State Park. Slade, Kentucky any time after 3:00 pm. Please bring photos, family stories and family trees to share.
- 6:00 – 7:00 Buffet Dinner in the Trillium Room . You are responsible for the cost of your meal, drink and $5.00 to offset the cost of reunion expenses. Any amount left over after expenses are covered will go to the Wells-Lyons Cemetery Foundation to cover ongoing operating expenses.
- 7:00 – 9:00 Fellowship and stories continue in the Trillium Room. . Ancestor presentations will be given by Rick Lyons, Roger Wells and Vicki Cox about some of our older ancestors. A DNA presentation will show how the Edmund Wells and Benjamin families are related and an update given on the Lyons Y-DNA. A brief Family Business Meeting including a Cemetery financial report and suggestions for future reunions will follow the presentations.
